As a curly-haired girl, hair products are daunting to me. Will it make my hair less frizzy, will it be stringy or crunchy, will it actually help define my curls? It's always a struggle to find something that works. What I find to be my biggest pain with curly hair is not getting very many good days out of it. The day I wash my hair it's great, the days after, not so great. I wake up with one side stuck to my head, the other side poofed out and everything frizzy. So frustrating because I know washing my hair everyday isn't healthy for it, but I don't want to have to wear it up on the other days. This is where Aveda Rinseless Refresh comes in. My hairstylist at Sugar Salon, Libby R, said she had a product geared toward curly hair that she thought I should try. Well, thank god for Libby because she has single-handedly saved my hair.

My first try:
The first test I did with the Aveda Rinseless Refresh was after I had slept on damp, just-washed hair. I woke up to a mess. When I say a mess, I mean it looked like there was no saving the mop that was on my head. I simply parted it down a little to where I normally have it and sprayed the refresh 4-6 inches away from my head in several areas throughout my hair. I then played with it a little to tame it and did a little scrunching. The pictures below speak for themselves. I have never been able to have curls that look like this past day one of washing. They were soft, defined and not frizzy. Needless to say, I fell in love with the Rinseless Refresh upon first try. But I sought out to try it after day two of not washing as well to test just how far this product could take me.

Day two:
Day two's fresh-out-of-bed hair wasn't as bad as I expected, which I assume is because of my day one use of the Rinseless Refresh. There was a slightly greasy look to my roots though. I used the Aveda Rinseless Refresh and sprayed about 4-6 inches away from my part and massaged it in. I lifted pieces of my hair and did this to several other parts. I then used it as an all-over refresh, spraying it on my hair and trying to style and scrunch it back into place.
My final thoughts--run, don't walk to buy this product. Whenever I use dry shampoo, I find that it just masks the problem and leaves my hair feeling like it has a film on it. It definitely doesn't help bring my curls back to life or style my hair post-shower days. Like any product, don't use too much in one area or cake it onto your hair. Light mists and massaging/working it into your hair works best. This product will save me time, be healthier for my hair with less shampoo days and allow me to feel more confident with having a good hair day every day. Go for the instant gratification and head to my salon, Sugar Salon in Wichita, to snag one! Or find it online here.
Big thank you to Sugar Salon for letting me be your tester and allowing me to find a product that actually works for my hair! Check out Libby's work here!
